OpLog hosted on the 7th of January a day of seminars. We had two researchers giving a seminar on two very interesting topics for our research group, followed by a festive Kings’ Day afternoon snack with gift exchange.
In the morning session, Daniel Santos, a researcher that recently started working in OpLog gave a lecture titled “Path elimination constraints for multi-depot routing problems”, an approach that can reduce the time needed to obtain solutions. This innovative approach can lead to new solutions for old problems. In the afternoon we had the opportunity of listening to Dr. Stef Lemmens, from INSEAD’s Technology and Operations Management group, on “Sustainable Operations Management and its Impact on Business and Society”, addressing topics from sustainability in warranty management to ambulances dispatch in India. Both presentations created powerful insights for OpLog’s team members.
After the seminars, the group had a small gathering with afternoon snacks and a gift exchange between all members.
